Reflecting on such a full weekend sure makes a rainy Monday hard to bear. Not pictured above is all the great time John had w.Mimi & Grumpaw while we were away. Just watching Robyn's face as she recounted some of John's "moments" was like looking in a mirror - I know I beam just like that when I talk about him :) I'm so thankful they had time together & I know it was enjoyed by all, despite the slight lack of sleep!

Full weekends like that take days to digest. Reminders of loving family, friends and blessings we can't begin to count. Hope everyone is staying dry today ~ have a great week.

In honor of the great food (Oysters especially!) we were surrounded by on Saturday ~ a Monday Story People funny :)

Hors d'oeuvres

I think my best self lives in my stomach, she said, & only comes out around the hors d'oeuvres at parties. I think you can tell a lot about people from the hors d'oeuvres. I nodded & hid my Vienna sausage in a big plant in the hall avoided her for the rest of the evening.

Fun things about the weekend...Valentine's Edition

Happy monday! Hope everyone had a lovely, love-filled weekend. Even though ours got started early w. a late morning call from daycare on Friday that resulted in me & John being home by lunch time - we still had a good weekend.

When I got to daycare I almost stepped on John who was laid out on a bean bag, covered w.his blanket while the other kids ate their lunch - most pitiful I've ever seen him :(. I scooped my lil' heap of puny-ness off the floor (after he finally mustered the strength to wearily open his eyes & see me standing over him) and we headed home to nap before our 3:15 appt. "Raging ear infection, right ear" was the diagnosis, but praise GOD the tubes were still in tact! The amoxicillin seems to be doing the trick, so the rest of the weekend shaped up something like this:

White wine & Watching snow fall

Traditional V-Day Salmon Dinner ~ a la our kitchen (pic does little justice)

Glorious sunshine :)

As Pastor Gary said sunday morning, "Praise God for the beautiful snow, and praise Him for the glorious sunshine to take it away!" Amen to that...

Fun things, not pictured:

A lazy sunday afternoon holding down the furniture & the carpet. Cat-napping on the couch by the fire. A pleasant Valentine's date w.my 2 boys @ El Dorado. Lots of hugs, snuggles & smooches - but isn't that every weekend!?!

We are reveling in these weekends at home together. January was full of house projects and now that we've completely run out of steam, we're truly just enjoying being together. We can look on the calendar and know that the months ahead just get busier & busier so we're soaking up this down time as much as possible.

Hope everyone has a blessed week. Stay warm & remember this cold weather can't last FOREVER!

Mid-week checking in (in other words, Mama didn't do "fun things...")

Happy Hump Day!

All's well in the Fisher house this week. We had a wonderful weekend at home w.Nana & Pappaw. Mama let Pappaw have the honor of the Friday Night Soundtrack & as he started belting out Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire", she knew she'd got it right. Not to be outdone, Nana was the train-leader as we "choo-chooed" around the downstairs. I don't know if trains normally allow pets, but of course our caboose was Sae Sae. I'm also not sure that train conductors get to drink on the job, but Nana was sippin' Corona while simultaneously whistle blowing - Mama calls that good multi-tasking!

My appetite's back up & I ate like a lil' pig Friday evening after all the singing and choo-chooing. After I went to bed, the fam-damily stayed up & had a lil' Friday night Fish Fry as Roger Miller and George Jones played on in the background. I think they got a lil' silly cause I heard them talking Saturday about my Deddy "cre-ating" himself asleep in front of the fire. Sure made Nana, Pappaw & Mama laugh retelling it :)

As you can see from the pics Mama posted, I was quite the lil' ham at breakfast Saturday/Sunday morning. I was putting on my precious face left & right. This weekend I made sure to show Nana & Pappaw all my new lil' things I'm doing. Things like my new pouty-face, complete w.bottom lip stuck out. I wear my lil' temperament right on my sleeve - Mama & Deddy just laugh at me. Mama likes to try & "get" my lip when I poke it out - I TRY real hard NOT to let this make me smile :)

Saturday night we made an awesome discovery (well, that's what Mama keeps saying anyways) that Papa John's delivers to our house. She was very giddy & kept talking about garlic sauce! At any rate, they fed me supper before the pizza got there. But I still made my rounds to each of them getting one bite after another of their pizza slices. They thought I was going to pop from eating so much. I just kept saying, "mmmmmm" w.every bite. I think the cuteness overwhelmed them as I kept stealing bites :)

I was sad to see Nana & Pappaw leave & was very confused when I got up from my nap on Sunday. I kept wondering around saying, "Nana?", "Pappaw?" - even when Mama got me home yesterday, I was STILL asking about them.

Let's see - what else is going on. Um, I'm sleeping pretty good although I've been crying out at night about 15-20 min. after being laid down. Mama thinks it's a lil' separation anxiety - yet another phase! I now want to be rocked again & when Mama picked me up the other night after I cried out, I had my blanket & my Mickey firmly in my grasp. I don't think they mind that I'm back in a rocking groove. I've also started clutching my giraffe when I sleep which they "awww" over every time they see me do it. Mama's glad I have so many lil' friends in my crib w.me :)

I'm currently on the Atkins diet - trying to watch my carbs. I usually eat my burgers bun-less, the middle out of my sandwiches and at school, my sheet usually says, "No Bun" (even w.sloppy joes). Mama & Deddy think this is SO weird.

School's going good, working on lots of neat things. Mama's anticipating an artful heap of red, glittery, heart-filled masterpieces to be sent home any day now. Got a great surprise recently. My teacher, Mrs. Karen's been back some! She's still being treated for her cancer, but is trying to be there when she can. Mama & Deddy are really praying hard for her - they love how good she is w.all the kids & think that she takes great care of me.

This weekend is Valentine's and I've been told to be on the look out for some goodies in the mail - I have some pretty great people who love me bunches! We'll be checking the mail for sure :)

Hope everyone's having a good week & that you take some time this weekend to steal some cuddles & kisses. Mama thinks Valentine's Day is cheesy but she's a firm believer in daily mass affection - hence the constant "smooching" she's always getting me with! I've become quite the lil' cuddler, hugger, snuggle-buddy, though - I think she's wearing off on me. I try & do more manly wrestling w.Deddy, but he sometimes takes advantage & sneaks in some "smooching" too. He & Mama are so silly, but they do tell me they love me ALL THE TIME & I think that's pretty neat.

Mama says I should sign off w.hugs & kisses. I'm thinkin' more dinosaur growls and "boom" punches...either way, I'm signing off - almost lunchtime :)

Fun things about the weekend...

Happy Tuesday everyone! Thought I'd grace you w.a post this morning. I'm sitting here on snow day #2, John's sitting beside me w.The Big Red Barn, coffee's been poured and the fire is going. We waved bye to Seth, so now it's just us to hang out & be lazy for the day!

I wish I had tons of awesome snow pics to share, but....I don't. Despite Mama & Deddy getting on the baby sled (sadly, there are no pics of this) to demonstrate how fun/great/exhilirating it would be John Tyson was far more interested in carrying around his lil' basketball, or trying to get the snow off his mittens by rubbing them in the snow, or sitting on the front steps pondering all the white stuff, or tossing snow "chunks" (due to the ratio of sleet to snow). Alas, our "fun things" sorta look like this:

Anxiously waiting to go outside

Meat cooking ~ always a good sign!

Chili, a cold weather fave :)

Watchin' Jungle Book (shocking, I know)

Stretchin' the imagination during morning coffee time :)

Doing a lil' fireside reading ~ I am my Mama & Deddy's child

Finally making it outdoors ~ Deddy trying to do some convincing!

Collecting ice chunks ~ especially fun to throw at Salem

Hangin' tight to my basketball

Enjoyin' the view ~ be still, my heart

A long weekend together ~ our lil' buddy right at the center of it all :)

We got some pretty good video w.our new camera, but it's temporarily being held "hostage". Will share that when we can. Pics should be up shortly on Shutterfly. No awesome sledding pics or jolly snow men ~ just us, piddling around :)

Be safe & stay warm ~ off to watch the Jungle Book!
