Per those purveyin' goals previously stated...most were met this past weekend. The vow for less busyness was remiss somewhat via bonus room upheaval, but hindsight convinces me it was worthwhile. Positive hindsight was delayed by a sick day yesterday to recoup from nasty head cold and little "extra" rest over the weekend. I put that in quotes b/c rest in general is a kinda relative idea when you have little ones under the age of 5 :)
I digress...fog from looming cold is still lingering, so I forgive myself any/all digressions :)
Here's my version of purveyin' goals being met (superceded in some instances). Albeit lackluster, from our vantage point - was still an overall joyful weekend...
La Brea bread - slayin' me by being on sale 2 weeks in a row...willpower only so strong. Hello olive oil, hello wine - glad you could join us :)
For the kids, we had more age appropriate treats :)
Purveyin' goal #1 (check) - more time holding down that floor w.the babies
Along the lines of weekend indulgence ~ contributing to the "chuck & duck" pile (purveyin' goal #3 - check)
A few more "no's" and frank chats w. lil' miss - usually ending with smiles (cuteness, 1 point - effectiveness, 0)
Candlelit dinners accompanied by fall soundtracks. As remarked by Seth, "when was the last time we left the same cd in the player all weekend"...yeah, it was that good (purveyin' goal #4 - check)
Saturday morning coming fast & early w.a 6-8am volunteer shift at church - anxious to get home after to enjoy the morning w.my babies...
Lighting lil' reminders of warmth everywhere ~ wonderful fall smells courtesy of 1/2 price tarts at Yankee Candle :)
Other lovely aromas provided by Fresh Market's Pumpkin Spice coffee - purveyin' goal #2 (check)
Some of us bravin' the temps to still enjoy the porch :)
Others of us not ~ hello cool mornings
Doing a lil' fall sprucing around the house ~ some folks sprucing was more fun than others :)
As for purveyin' goals #5 (opening windows) and #6 (just being)...those were met too.
Serene moments of quiet and rest were few, but enjoyed...
And this...
a mantra for this time in our lives if there ever was one.
Happy 1st week of October
