In those days,
we finally chose to walk like giants
& hold the world in arms grown strong with love
& there may be many things we forget in the days to come,
but this will not be one of them.
Reflecting on the above Story People, I'd have to say this was a weekend spent "walking like giants." Seizing the day, soakin' it up and taking time to just be. We were the usual family of four, continuing to grow our loving arms and trying to stay within each other's reach most of the waking time.
Knowing that we'll be away from those thundering beats of our heart by week's end, I think we laughed a little harder, hugged a little tighter and basked moreso in all their sunshine.
From playin' along with all of John's adventures that range from sharks in the bathtub to dragons in mama's kitchen - we so enjoy being on this adventurous, humorous, joy-filled and imaginative ride of all things lil' boy. Then there's lil' miss, sweet Ella Bella, giving us her charming lil' grin or erupting in that lil' laugh of hers...a heart be still we're only scratching the surface of. We are so proud and enamored with those babies. I hope that our smiles of joy, our matching laughter and our beaming pride are things they will always carry with them. I hope the love they're given and that they give in return will help them "walk like giants" in this world.

We got the camera out exactly once this weekend. Sunday night supper on the back deck. Adding to the list of things that won't be forgotten...
"Peace" ~ felt in taking the view from the kitchen window, knowing that is my family - my husband, my children...all my heart's desires right there together (sigh)
Simple joy ~ seen best through a child's eye...the day my children stop gravitating under tables for adventures is one that I hope is far far away. Add to that - further hope that they will always look at each other the way they do now...with honest adoration and love (deep sigh)
No matter where we may live or how many days the sun doesn't shine, I will never lose the beautiful picture of how the setting sun casts the warmest hue of gold across our back porch. Seeing my babies cast in that glow of a fading day, their warmth - the loving way I can't help but see them (deeper sigh)
Being here to hold the yesterdays, enjoy todays, hope for tomorrow - all the while thanking God for the moments (deepest sigh)
Yesterday marked the anniversary of such a tragic day in our nation's history. Just as seemingly every 9/11 since that fateful day - the sun was shining bright, the sky was a brilliant blue. As with so many tragedies that befall our lives - be them personal, national or worlds away...they should all serve an important reminder of the gift of today.
Designed this earlier using a Max Lucado quote - serves as a reminder of the above. Not only is each day a gift, but it's a blank slate & we choose what we fill it with...
Committing to this for myself, for Seth, for those babies and in appreciation of all that God continues to bless our lives with. Reminded every day he really loves me "this much" - insert stretched out arms :)

Ditto~ to the Max Lucado quote~ and the beautiful picture I get in my mind of John and Ella, the love, the laughter and the 'pure joy' they are~ all of you are blessed to have each other~
ReplyDeleteGod loves you so much~
